The College Level Examination Program is a series of examinations that allow individuals to earn college credit for what they already know, regardless of where they learned it. CLEP is the most widely accepted credit-by-examination program in the United States. CLEP exams are all ninety minutes long and are administered only on computer. Students receive instant score reports following completion of the exam. With the exception of English Composition with Essay, the exams are composed of multiple-choice questions. The English Composition with Essay exam consists of forty five minute multiple choice sections and a forty five minute essay section, which must be typed.
